About the Trust

Established in 2006, Manonmani Trust envisions inclusive and integrated development with an emphasis on community. It focuses on elder care and education: two seemingly disparate areas, but bound by its guiding principle of holistic community-building.

Manonmani Trust was founded by 3 friends: Sudha Ramalingam, D. Saraswathi Varadarajan and (Late) Shanthi Gopal. The Founders created this Trust and named it to honour the memory of their friend (Late) Manonmani. The Trust is inspired by Manonmani’s personal values and her generosity of spirit. As a visually impaired person, she overcame her disability, excelled professionally and was unswervingly committed to helping those around her.

Thanks to the generous support of the Trustees’ friends and well-wishers, Manonmani Trust has expanded its reach and has been able to touch the lives of hundreds of elders, students and persons in need. We are guided by an eminent panel of advisors including the likes of Mr AVS Raja (Patron), Mr T V Ramanujam (Senior Advocate), Sai Vasanth (Film Director) and T.K.Ramachandran (President, Milk Co-Operative Association, Thirukandalam).
